The Perceive, Recall, Plan and Perform Assessment (PRPP-A) course
Overview of the occupational therapy and neurosciences foundation of the PRPP-A. Instruction in measuring occupational performance mastery and cognitive strategy use. Supervised practise in using the PRPP-A through a minimum of 20 videotaped examples of children and adults who have difficulties performing a range of simple to complex occupations. Introduction to PRPP-A derivatives which include a screening tool, interview proforma, questionnaires and surveys. Overview of the application of findings to establishing goals and intervention priorities. A mix of didactic presentations and small group problem solving sessions will be used throughout the course.
Enable participants to reliably assess functional cognition in client of any age, diagnosis, severity or context. Specifically, participants will learn to assess occupational performance mastery in an ecologically valid and culturally responsive way, and the attention, perception, memory, thinking and follow through strategy use behaviours impacting mastery, write measurable therapy goals and discuss relevance of findings to occupational therapy intervention.
